5 Amino 1MQ (5-amino-1methylquiinolinium) is a short peptide inhibitor of cytosolic nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT.) The NNMT enzyme has been linked to obesity, diabetes and weight gain. By inhibiting/decreasing NNMT in animals, researchers have seen significant weight loss, decreased fat mass and fat cell size as well as lower plasma cholesterol and glucose. 5 Amino 1MQ is currently being researched as a potential treatment for obesity and diabetes.
5 Amino 1MQ presents itself as a molecular compound which has been researched as a way to treat obesity via appetite suppression. 5 Amino 1MQ stimulates an increase in (NAD+), an energy cofactor that is crucial for metabolism.
